I am an experienced and compassionate counselling professional with over 15 years of practice in counselling, crisis support, and community outreach. My work has focused extensively on supporting survivors of trauma, particularly those affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse—both current and historical. I have developed a specialism in working with young women aged 13–18, alongside experience in managing helpline services and delivering culturally responsive, client-centred support.
I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP. My practice is grounded in core values of empathy, trust, and confidentiality, supported by strong organisational skills and a solid administrative background. I am committed to creating safe, supportive environments where individuals feel heard, respected, and empowered in their healing journey.
I have a proven ability to build meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. I tailor my approach to meet each individual’s needs, regularly reviewing goals and progress to ensure outcomes remain client-led and responsive. My work is underpinned by ongoing clinical supervision and a strong commitment to continuous professional development.
My additional training includes Vicarious Trauma: Recognising, Understanding and Mitigation, as well as annual safeguarding training for both children and adults. I also maintain up-to-date knowledge in Neurodiversity Awareness, ensuring my practice remains inclusive and informed.
I am particularly interested in expanding access to therapy through flexible and accessible online platforms, enabling more individuals to receive the support they need in ways that suit their circumstances

Hi, I’m Ellie, a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I have a Level 4 Diploma in Person-Centred counselling, and am currently embarking on a bachelor’s degree in Integrative therapy.
My passion for counselling comes from my own experience as a client and seeing first-hand how transformative the therapeutic process can be. Experiencing the positive impact counselling had on my own life inspired me to train as a counsellor and support others in creating meaningful, lasting change.
I believe that everyone deserves to live a life that feels calmer, more fulfilling and authentic. My aim is to help you understand yourself more deeply, build self-esteem, overcome challenges and recognise your own strengths and potential.
I work predominantly from a Person-Centred approach, meaning that our sessions are led by you. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I will never pressure you to discuss anything you're not ready to explore or encourage you to work at a pace that doesn't feel right for you. Where appropriate, I may also incorporate CBT-informed techniques and exercises to help you develop practical strategies and new ways of thinking.
I am passionate about supporting people experiencing:
• Anxiety and excessive worry
• Depression and low mood
• Bereavement
• Living with chronic illness
• Low self-esteem and confidence issues
• Limiting self-beliefs and self-doubt
• Relationship difficulties, both spousal and family-related
• Life transitions and feeling “stuck"
• Issues relating to traumatic experiences
• Parenting issues, including navigating the challenges of raising neurodivergent children and children with additional needs
• Alcohol dependency
• Couples
I often say that I have “lived a life”. Alongside my professional training and experience, I bring with me a wealth of understanding gained through my own life experiences.
Combined with the insight and expertise I have developed through my work with clients, this allows me to meet people with genuine empathy, warmth and compassion. I understand that life can be messy, challenging and sometimes overwhelming, and I recognise the courage it takes to reach out for support.
I consider it a real privilege to walk alongside my clients on their journeys. I deeply value the trust they place in me and strive to provide a relationship where they feel truly seen, heard and accepted.
I believe that meaningful change happens when we feel genuinely understood and accepted. My aim is to help you develop greater self-awareness, build self-compassion, strengthen resilience and move towards a happier, more peaceful and fulfilling life.
You don't have to face things alone. Whatever you're carrying, I offer a safe and supportive space where we can explore it together, at your pace and in a way that feels right for you.
