“Jess is warm, compassionate and easy to talk to. She offers a calm, non-judgemental space and I would highly recommend her.”

Jess Goodman

BACP Registered Counsellor Supporting Anxiety, Stress & Relationship Challenges

Jess Goodman is a compassionate counsellor working with clients through Lavender Therapy, offering a calm and supportive space to explore what is happening in their lives.

Many people reach a point where things begin to feel overwhelming. Anxiety may build, relationships can feel strained, or life may simply no longer feel as balanced as it once did. Speaking with a professional counsellor can be an important first step toward gaining clarity, feeling supported, and beginning to move forward.

Jess believes therapy should feel safe, respectful, and genuinely supportive. Her approach focuses on building a trusting therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without fear of judgement.

Everyone’s story is unique, so Jess works at a pace that feels right for each individual, allowing the counselling process to unfold naturally and meaningfully.

Jess takes a person-centred and compassionate approach to therapy, focusing on helping clients better understand themselves, their emotions, and their experiences. Rather than offering quick fixes, she works collaboratively with clients to explore patterns, challenges, and difficult feelings in a way that supports long-term emotional wellbeing.

Counselling can be helpful for many different reasons. Some people seek support when anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm become difficult to manage. Others may be navigating relationship difficulties, grief, loss, low confidence, or major life changes. Jess supports clients in gently exploring these experiences, helping them develop greater self-awareness, resilience, and confidence in their ability to cope.

Jess often supports clients experiencing:

Anxiety and excessive worrying
Stress and emotional overwhelm
Low mood or feelings of depression
Relationship difficulties
Self-esteem and confidence challenges
Grief and loss
Life transitions or periods of uncertainty

By creating a calm, respectful, and reflective space, Jess helps clients make sense of what they are going through and reconnect with their own inner resources.

Many people consider therapy when they reach a point where things feel difficult to manage alone. You may notice your thoughts racing at night, feel stuck in repeating patterns within relationships, or simply sense that something does not feel quite right emotionally.

Counselling offers a space to pause, reflect, and begin making sense of what you are experiencing, without pressure or expectation. Through supportive conversation, clients often start to recognise patterns, gain new perspectives, and develop healthier ways of responding to life’s challenges.

For some people, therapy provides practical support for managing anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm. For others, it becomes a space to explore deeper emotional experiences or past events that may still be affecting the present.

Whatever brings someone to counselling, the aim is to support greater emotional balance, self-understanding, and confidence in moving forward.

Starting counselling can feel like a significant step, but it can also be the beginning of meaningful personal growth. Many people find that simply having a space to talk openly helps them gain clarity, feel less alone, and begin moving towards positive change.

If you are experiencing anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, or simply feel that something in life is not quite right, counselling can offer a supportive place to explore those feelings and begin finding a way forward.

Support is available, and you are welcome exactly as you are.
